If I could sit across from my teenage self the girl with too many thoughts and not enough answers I wouldn’t overwhelm her with life lessons.
I would start gently.
Because she was already carrying more than anyone realised.
You are not behind

I know you think everyone else understands life better than you do.
You compare your confidence, your friendships, your achievements. You assume other people are clearer, braver, more certain.
They aren’t.
Most of them are just as unsure they’re just louder about it.
You are not late.
You are learning.
Not everyone is meant to stay
You will lose some people.
Some will drift. Some will choose different paths. Some will misunderstand you. And you will take it personally.
Don’t.
Not every ending is a failure. Some relationships are chapters, not entire books.
You will meet people later who feel more aligned more steady more real.
You don’t have to shrink to belong
There will be moments when you make yourself smaller to fit in.
You’ll quiet your opinions. You’ll soften your personality. You’ll adjust your boundaries so you aren’t “too much.”
You don’t have to do that.
The right people will not need you to dim yourself.
Your sensitivity is not a weakness
You feel deeply. You overthink. You care too much, sometimes.
It may feel exhausting now. It may feel like a flaw in a world that rewards indifference.
But one day, you will realise your sensitivity is perception. It will help you choose better. Love better. Understand more.
Protect it.
Don’t erase it.
It’s okay not to know yet
You don’t need to decide your entire life at sixteen.
Or eighteen.
Or twenty.
Clarity comes in phases. Direction changes. Dreams evolve.
You are allowed to explore without labeling yourself permanently.
And finally
Be kinder to yourself.
You are trying your best with the tools you have right now. You don’t need to be perfect to be worthy. You don’t need to have everything figured out to move forward.
You are becoming slowly, unevenly, beautifully.
And one day, you will look back at this version of yourself with gratitude, not embarrassment.
I promise.
